Support a better Georgetown County by voting Yes and Yes for the local option and capital projects sales taxes during this year’s November general election.

These taxes will help create a more equitable tax structure in our area by requiring visitors – even those passing through – to pay more toward the services they consume and help fund needed capital projects to improve the health, safety and quality of life in our area.

When is the November general election?

The November general election will be held Nov. 5, 2024. Early voting will be available Oct. 21 through Nov. 2 at the following early voting centers in Georgetown County:

How do I vote for the capital project and local option sales taxes?

When completing your ballot, you will be offered referendum questions to approve for the local option and capital project sales taxes. A simple majority of voters is needed to approve the taxes. The referendum questions will be listed last on the ballot under “local questions.” Be sure to answer the referendum questions even if you vote straight party in candidate elections.
