Request a Speaker
Our speakers would welcome the opportunity to present to your group about the local option and capital sales taxes. Two weeks’ advance notice and a minimum group size of 25 are requested.
Write a Letter to the Editor
Letters to the editor are an easy but effective way to help educate the community and increase support for the capital project and local option sales taxes.
Tips
Keep letters brief and to the point. Often, news outlets set strict limits on the length of letters due to limited space to publish them.
In your letter, make reference to any previous articles that have been published in the news outlet about the taxes.
Reinforce the many benefits of the local option and capital project sales taxes, including:
The need for property tax relief offered by the local option sales tax
The importance of the projects that would be funded by the capital project sales tax
The benefits of having visitors pay more for the services they consume
